The Tokyo Skytree (東京スカイツリー)

This is the world's tallest tower - 2,080ft. It is a new digital broadcast tower to mark the age of the digital age to over shadow the video age. Anna's afraid of heights so this was pretty funny for me. Unreal view though!

The adventures of Anna

I met Anna at a house party years ago and we've been friends ever since! After I had left Dublin for just over a month she had a chance for a cheap flight to Japan so she took it! A lot of what Anna was discovering for the first time, so was I. We did the general touristy things starting off with the busy Shinjuku. Shinjuku is the real heart of Tokyo. From the best shopping to it's neon lights with small crammed bars under the eye of Godzilla.

Next we went for a stroll through Yoyogi Park (代々木公園, Yoyogi Kōen). A huge park full of tall trees, ponds and forest areas. This led us to the Meiji Jingu shrine. This shrine is one of the most popular shrines to see in Tokyo. Meiji Shrine (明治神宮, Meiji Jingū) is a shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shoken. It was destoryed after WW2 but then rebuilt.
